DARIEN, Conn. Giggles and shrieks filled the Common Room at Ox Ridge Elementary as the Science Genie also known as Mr. Science gave a thrilling demonstration on three science topics. Mr. Science performed experiments that taught students the principles of combustion, chemistry and weird science. Among other things, students learned that a pickle is a good conductor of electricity and that a piece of potato can be shot halfway across the room powered by air pressure alone. The enrichment program was sponsored by the Darien Advocates for Education of the Gifted.
