The college’s 2026 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience program, known as SURE, began Monday, May 18. According to Mount Saint Mary College, the program matches students from a range of academic disciplines with faculty mentors for focused scholarly and creative work.

The opening session included academic planning and team-building activities on campus before students began research work.

Participants receive a stipend and free campus housing while taking part in the program. Per the college, students will spend the session applying classroom learning through work in chemistry labs, local archives, and field sites in the Hudson Valley.

SURE students are scheduled to share their work with the Mount Saint Mary College campus during two summer sessions, followed by the annual SURE Symposium in the fall.
