RYE, N.Y. - Less than 12 hours after the City Council passed a resolution to create a Flood Advisory Committee, the Police Department released an advisory alerting the public of coastal flooding of Kirby Lane, Manursing Way, and Milton Road.
The advisory requests that residents avoid those areas if possible and if not to use caution while traveling. A section of Milton Road beginning at the Milton Point Firehouse has been completely blocked off due to heavy flooding.
While the advisory states that flooding should abate by 1:00 p.m., the portion of Milton Road and other locations are, as of 2:00 p.m., still closed off and do not look to be reopening anytime soon.
