STAMFORD, Conn. Michael William Muchinsky died on Aug. 13 following complications from surgery. He was 93 years old.
Muchinsky graduated from Stamford High School in 1935 and attended the University of Buffalo and the University of Connecticut. After serving in World War II he worked in the petroleum industry in Connecticut at Petro in Stamford, Home Oil in New Canaan and Automatic Comfort in East Hartford.
He was passionate about baseball and golf, and was present when Don Larsen pitched his Perfect Game in the 1956 World Series. He also made seven holes-in-one, five right-handed and two left-handed. He moved to Greensboro, N.C., in 1996.
Survivors include his son, Paul, and his wife, Kay; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was scheduled today at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel in Greensboro, N.C. Burial will be in the National Military Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Muchinskys name can be made to the Hospice of Greensboro.
