Michael Griffis Shot Man, Dog While Hunting

A 47-year-old Hamilton Township man was charged after he shot a man and his dog with a pellet gun on Monday, March 2, authorities said.

Michael Griffis is charged with negligent use of a firearm and causing damage of property after he shot a 70-year-old Burlington County man in the leg with birdshot pellets while hunting in Kingwood Township in Hunterdon County, NJDEP Fish & Wildlife Conservation Police said.

The 70-year-old man's dog was also struck by pellets, authorities said. The man who was shot sustained non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
