McDonald Continues Work in Hartford

Andrew McDonald will return to the state Senate in January after winning re-election to the 27th District with 14,750 votes to Republican challenger Bob Kolenberg's 10,320 votes.

McDonald, the Democratic incumbent, formerly worked for the city of Stamford as its director of legal affairs and corporation counsel. He served in city government as a member of the Board of Finance and before that on the Board of Representatives.

During his state Senate tenure, McDonald's legislative interests have included campaign finance reform law, education, foreclosure mediation and child protection. He was recognized earlier this year by the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance as a 2010 Child Champion for his support of legislation on the well being of children and families.

The 27th District is made up of parts of Stamford and Darien.
