May the Chess Master Win

Chess is a game of strategy and patience. On Aug. 21 the Weston Library will give your test your children's skills and knowledge of the game

Three sections of the Brain Games Scholastic Chess Tournament will allow children from kindergarten to grade 12 the chance to compete. Section one includes grades six through 12, section two, grades kindergarten through fifth and section three, all ages. Trophies will be awarded to the top five competitors in each section.

Advanced registration at the library before Aug. 18 in order to play and for sections one and two, competitors must register for USCF membership online. The tournament, which is free to play, has rounds that begin at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m.
