FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Mary Kessler, of Fairfield, died Monday, Feb. 29. She was 99.
She was born Aug. 16, 1916. She was a mother and grandmother who was talented in gardening, sewing and designing furniture for her husband to build, and was extremely creative in decorating her home.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Kelly (Larry) of Texarkana, Texas, and Janet Christie (Tom) of Fairfield; nine grandchildren, Donny Kessler of Oxford, Craig Kessler of Round Rock, Texas, Erin Kelly of Chicago, Shawn Kelly of Dallas, Janet DeJesus of Kensington, Md., Colbert Christie, Logan Christie, Eliza Christie and Cassidy Christie, all of New York; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Morris; and son, Donald.
Viewing will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 12:30 p.m. at St Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. No flowers are necessary.
