Marie E. Clare, a longtime resident of Darien, died May 30 in Darien at the age of 91. Born Aug. 21, 1919, in New Haven, she was the daughter of Earle L. Weed and Martha Lenk Weed.
Marie Clare graduated from Norwalk High School and later proudly served in the military during World War II. She also worked as a receptionist for Russell Frost.
She is survived by two sons, Gary E. Clare and wife Terry of Carlsbad, Calif., and Roger L. Clare and wife Marion of Orange; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward G. Clare.
