Margaret E. Smith Williams, 90, Hackensack Resident

HACKENSACK, N.J. – Margaret E. Smith Williams, a lifelong resident of Hackensack, died Sunday, Jan. 24. She was 90.

She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.

She was the wife of the late James F. Williams, Sr. ,who died in 1997.

She was the mother of Kathleen Peele and her husband, Lawrence, of Clifton; James F. Williams Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Englewood; Fern P. Taylor of Hackensack; Barry L. Williams and his wife, Raquel, of Wallington; and special mother to Lillian Holmes of Hackensack; grandmother of Lauren and her husband, Troy; Lonnie and his wife, Amalin; Charity and her husband, Kelly; Barry, Jr. and his wife Monica; Salim and his wife, Cindy; and Imani, Tiffany and Kahlil; great-grandmother of Maya, Malik, Colby, Troi-Elizabeth, Briana, Shayna, Brandon, Cameron, Jaelani, Malia, Trey and Dwayne; sister of Toni, Cecilia, Thomasina, Ollie and Hortense; and loving friend of Rachel Brown.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 34 Maple Ave., Hackensack, with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus.
