STAMFORD, Conn. A man suffering up to eight stab wounds was being treated at Stamford Hospital on Thursday, said Lt. Diedrich Hohn of the Stamford Police Department.
The injuries were not considered life threatening, Hohn said.
Witnesses told police the victim and another man got into a fight on Forest Street in Stamford after a night of drinking and doing drugs, Hohn said. Witnesses added that one took out a knife once he began to lose the fight and stabbed the victim early Thursday, he said.
After the fight, the victim drove himself to the Tully Health Center for treatment, Hohn said. After seeing how badly the man was bleeding, neighbors called police, and he was taken to the hospital, Hohn said.
Police have a suspect in custody but have not yet arrested the man, Hohn said.
