At 4:10 p.m., police responded to 15th Avenue and South 19th Street and found a man who had been slashed in the hand, sustained after grappling for a knife during a fight with a man he knows, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, The victim was transported to nearby hospital in stable condition, Miranda said.
This incident remains under investigation, Miranda said.
