At 4 p.m., Karon Gray sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen at 858 South 17th St. in Newark, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Gray was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m., authorities said.
Another man sustained a gunshot wound to his arm, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
