A 21-year-old Stamford man was charged with making fraudulent returns to the CVS in Darien last week.
Police received a call at 7:55 p.m. Saturday from the CVS security manager that a suspicious person had returned items, which the manager believed were stolen, without a receipt. The man had provided an Ohio ID that did not match his description. He got $62.24 in store credit and left.
Police spotted Torriane Hodge driving west on the Post Road and stopped him at Post Road and Corbin Drive. He admitted he had been at CVS and handed over the false license, which bore the name Steven Young. He claimed that Young was a friend who had moved out of state.
He was arrested on charges of third-degree forgery, criminal impersonation, sixth-degree larceny and operating with a suspended license. He posted $250 bond and has a court date of Feb. 4.

Another residence was broken into Thursday, this time on Red Cedar Drive. A female resident left at noon, and when her husband returned at 5:30 p.m. he discovered a jewelry box had been emptied onto the bed and other drawers had been opened. They were missing silver and gold jewelry, a digital camera and 50 rolls of pennies. Police believe the thief entered through a basement door, where broken glass was found.
