Julio Herrera, 48, of Henry Street, was arrested Sunday after allegedly swinging a machete at a man standing in front 745 Atlantic St. The two knew each other, but the victim told police the attack was unprovoked. When asked why he did it, Herrera indicated there was a perfectly good explanation for the attack. He said he doesn't get along with the victim, whom he described as "crazy," according to police. Herrera was charged with second-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon. Bond was set at $50,000, and Herrera was given a Sept. 24 court date.
