Luis Marin is charged with murdering David Pulgarin on Monday, March 23, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said. Marin also faces multiple weapons charges

At 1:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired at Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street and located Pulgarin with gunshot wounds,  Mello said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m., Mello said.

A fundraiser has been established for Pulgarin's family, which includes his 11-year-old son.

"David was taken from us in a senseless act of violence that no family should ever have to endure," the Granados family, who organized the fundraiser said. "He leaves behind his 11 year old son, who now has to grow up without his dad’s guidance, protection, and love. This loss is unimaginable, and we are doing everything we can to support him during this heartbreaking time."

Marin should not be approached, Mello said. Anyone with information regarding Marin’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip at hcpo.org/tips.
