There was a lot of love for President Barack Obama among a group of youngsters who ventured from their Tresser Boulevard apartment building to see his motorcade pass by Thursday night.
"I came out because I love President Obama," said Ashley Quezeda, 9.
"I love him so much because he's the best president in the world," said Jesse Quezada, 7.
"I love Obama because he's the president and I just came out wet with my sneakers," said Shaynna Yarrow, 9.
Even moms Peggy Yarrow and Zoila Quezeda expressed their love for the president.
"I love the president very much," said Quezeda.
"I'm so happy to see the president," said Yarrow. "He's wonderful. He's a good president and he speaks [greetings in different languages]."
Like others, they cheered when vehicles from the presidential motorcade exited the Marriott Hotel and zoomed past on Tresser Boulevard, heading for Greenwich.
Besides declaring their admiration for the president, however, there was another reason the women and girls wanted to catch his attention. Quezeda held it in her hands.
A sign, written in multicolored lettering, read "Dear President Obama, You have a big heart. Can you please help the people that does [sic] not have papers. Please let the children and parents be together. We love you and God Bless You."
"Please," said Quezeda, "tell him."
