OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining's Jamie Loeb ended her run Thursday in the 2012 U.S. Open Juniors Championships with a second-round 6-2, 6-2 defeat to Mexico's Marcel Zacarias.
She (Zacarias) was really solid and not much I could do," Loeb said. "I have two $10,000 women's pro events coming up soon at the end of this month. It was a great experience and I am proud that I made it this far and had an awesome summer. Of course, I would have loved to win, but I fought and played hard until the very end."
Loeb trailed 5-1 in the first set before fighting back to lose at 6-2 and trailed 3-2 early in the second set before falling 6-2.
