Lillian O'Connell, 'Legendary' for High-Heels

STAMFORD, Conn.—Lillian O’Connell, 90, of Stamford died Aug. 24 at Stamford Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Stamford.

Most recently, she worked at Siladi’s Pharmacy until she retired in 2010. O’Connell was also “legendary” for her high-heels, which she wore even at 90.

O’Connell is survived by her sons, Eugene O’Connell, Daniel O’Connell and wife Bonnie, and Michael O’Connell and wife Ingrid; daughters Patricia Nadler and her husband, Richard, and Nancy Bailey and her husband, Robert; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eugene O’Connell; brothers Jack, Bill and Frank; and sisters Marie and Francis.

A wake will be held at Leo P .Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. in Stamford, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. A funeral service will take place at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in O’Connell’s memory to the charity of your choice.
