Library Seeks Public Input

Westporters can weigh in on their library's near term future via a questionnaire and in person, at 7:30 p.m. on April 14 at the library. The questionnaire came in an April 6 e-mail labeled, “Help Plan Westport Library's Future.” It asks about library visiting habits and solicits suggestions and ideas for new programs and services for the next three years. "The entire community is invited to contribute ideas," says Assistant Director for Administrative Services George Wagner. Twelve focus groups have aleady been held. Independent consultants, Library Development Solutions, are leading the April 14 meeting. At it, Library Director Maxine Bleiweis and President of the Board Martha Aasen will field questions and comments. Public input, as well as research results, focus groups and a town meeting will “help direct priorities in the next strategic plan for the library,” the e-mail says.
