Library Benefit Will Be Fab 'Beyond Words'

The Wilton Library is used by many different people in many different ways each day. Which is why the organizers of the library’s first “Beyond Words” spring fundraiser want it to capture the library’s special spirit.

“Just as Wilton Library provides more than what you expect, we’re striving for this benefit to be more than what you get at typical fundraisers. … We have many surprises to reveal as we get closer to the event,” Robin Roscillo, one of the event’s co-chairs, said in a press release.

This is the first of what will become an annual fundraiser for the library. There will be a DJ and dancing, a silent auction, a live auction, gourmet food from four local restaurants and high-end, vintage wines.

“Not only do we expect this year’s first ‘Beyond Words’ benefit to be such a fun experience, but each one in the years to come will be a major component of the library’s annual budget, much like the Annual Book Sale,” event co-chair Susan DiLoreto said.

Tickets for “Beyond Words” are $150, $300 and $500 per person. Auction scrips will be provided to people who purchase the higher-priced tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the library’s website by clicking on the "Beyond Words" button. Or you can call Anne Rowlands at (203) 762-3950, ext. 216, or stop by the circulation desk. The event will be April 1 and begin at 7 p.m.

The organizers are still looking for businesses to donate auction items or be sponsors. Those interested should also contact Rowlands. Wilton Bank is one of the “Beyond Words” sponsors.
