FAIRFIELD, Conn. The following letters were submitted in support of Michael Tetreau and Cristin McCarthy-Vahey, Democratic candidates for Fairfields Board of Selectmen.
To the Editor:
I am proud and excited to endorse Michael Tetreau for first selectman and Cristin McCarthy-Vahey for selectman of the Town of Fairfield. Mike and Cristin are not new to public service in Fairfield, but they do provide solid and fresh ideas in moving Fairfield forward. They are both Ready To Lead because they are truly excellent leaders already in their own right.
If you believe that Fairfield needs leadership of openness and transparency, then you should vote for Mike and Cristin. If you believe that our leaders should be guided by knowing what is right from what is wrong, in employing common sense, then you should vote for Mike and Cristin.
If you believe in Fairfield maintaining the character of our Town and building up our commercial properties, so as to make Fairfield affordable to its residents, then you should vote for Mike and Cristin.
If you believe that our school system is and should be second to none, then you should vote for Mike and Cristin.
In the short time that Mike Tetreau has served as [interim] first selectman, he has demonstrated openness, common sense and intelligence in his decision making. Mikes service to the Town of Fairfield is a gift, and we should show our appreciation by voting for Tetreau and McCarthy-Vahey on Nov. 8. I hope you will join me.
Ellery E. Plotkin,
Chairman, Fairfield Democratic Town Committee
Editor:
It is my pleasure to write in support of the candidacies of Mike Tetreau for first selectman and Cristin McCarthy-Vahey for selectman. I am delighted and proud to have served with both Mike and Cristin on the RTM.
Smart? Yup. I cant count the number of times Ive seen Mike focus a group of people on the core elements of an issue.
Tireless? Oh yeah. If you havent met Cristin, youre in for a treat. Her soft-spoken demeanor belies an incredible dynamism.
Mike and Cristin both have solid track records that prove they are able to maximize town resources, maintain the quality of town services and amenities, and restrain spending. Take a few minutes to talk with them and you will understand the comprehensive understanding they both have of the issues facing Fairfield today.
Please join me in supporting Mike and Cristin on Nov. 8.
Doug Jones
RTM Candidate, District 4
