Lembo Stops By Wilton Polls

In a last minute effort to sway voters, Democratic state comptroller candidate Kevin Lembo was out at the Wilton High School Clune Center greeting residents of District 1. Making about 15 stops at various polling places throughout the day, Lembo said that Wilton was a must.

"Wilton was there early on and very supportive," he said, noting that not every town was equally receptive. He took off for his next stop after about half an hour, with plans to be in Hartford early enough to shower and change before the results come in. Lembo, who was endorsed by the Democratic Party, is facing a challenge from Michael Jarjura.

The polls at the high school were not jam-packed. Still, the voters arrived in a steady stream. Kimberly Cameron brought her three kids, to watch her vote for candidates she felt would best limit the role of the government and help get the country out of debt. "We need to get back this country," she said.

Both candidates for Republican registrar, Tina Gardner and Mary Arbisi, showed up.???? "I have full confidence in the Republican Voters of Wilton," the incumbent Gardner said.?? "So many people have come out who said they were supporting me," countered ?Arbisi, who was the party's choice?.?

The polls have been open since 6 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.
