Tonnelle Avenue is closed between 51st Street and 69th Street as emergency crews are actively on scene, North Bergen police said.
Residents are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Expect delays and increased traffic in surrounding streets, police said.
"We appreciate your cooperation as first responders work to ensure everyone’s safety," police said.
At 1:30 p.m., North Bergen police announced northbound lane had been opened, while southbound lanes remain closed.
