Westport resident Kristena Geysel, a creative writer, died Thursday after a battle with cancer. She was 63.
A 1968 graduate of the University of Oregon, Geysel worked as a creative writer in the advertising industry.
Geysel is survived by her son, Benjamin Geysel of Westport; daughter, Gabriella Geysel and future son in-law, Eric Schwager of Norwalk; and sister, Kay Yriarte of Eugene, Ore.
A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Church in the Highlands, 35 Bryant Ave., White Plains, N.Y. 10605
The Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E., Westport, is assisting with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.
