POUGHKEEPSIE, N Y. -- A 49-year-old Poughkeepsie dentist was cleared Tuesday by an Ulster County jury of second-degree murder in the 2011 death of Thomas Kolman but was found guilty of forging information that he was a member of the CIA, according to a Poughkeepsie Journal report.

Kingston-based dentist Gilberto A. Nunez of Poughkeepsie was cleared by a jury in the 2011 murder of Thomas Kolman, the Poughkeepsie Journal says.

Gilberto A. Nunez is also facing grand larceny and insurance fraud charges and a perjury charge relating to a permit application for a pistol. The forgery charges for which he was convicted are felonies, the Poughkeepsie Journal says.

Orange County prosecutors said they were disappointed about the decision on the murder charge, but they plan to move ahead with the other cases, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports. A report in the Daily Freeman says prosecutors alleged that the Kingston-based dentist was friends with the other man but was having an affair with the man's wife.
