Westport's Junior 6 North football team used ball control to dominate the Norwalk Grizzlies, 25-6, in a Fairfield County Football League contest Saturday at Norwalk High School. Adam Feuer scored two touchdowns, including one on an interception return, to lead Westport.
"It was team effort, the guys played well,'' coach Andy Moss said. "We got contributions from everybody."
Westport's ball control was especially evident during the final half. Westport maintained control of the ball for the final three minutes of the third quarter, and the drive extended into the fourth. Gabriel Leitner's 9-yard run with 2:36 left in the fourth quarter finally ended the drive. Will Marshall's conversion accounted for the final points.
Feuer scored Westport's first touchdown on a run up the middle, and Tripp Backus scored on a 25-yard run. "It was kind of our game,'' Moss said. "Our kids came out to play today."
Westport (1-1) meets Ridgefield next Sunday at P.J. Romano Field in Westport.
