PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Josephine Wiese, a longtime Peekskill resident, died June 3 at Sky View Nursing Home. She was 88.
Wiese was a retired cafeteria worker for the Peekskill School District.
She was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Chappaqua to John and Laura Antonucci Astrologo. She attended schools in Mahopac and Granite Springs. On Dec. 17, 1955, she married Paul Wiese in Peekskill. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Wiese is survived by two daughters, Geraldine (Richard) Lobus, of Ossining, and Laura (Michael) Rispoli, of Peekskill; a son, Vincent (Joanne) Pileggi, of South Gate, Calif.; two sisters, Laura Russo, of Peekskill, and Libby Quigley, of Marietta, Calif; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; a stepson, Paul Wiese Jr.; three sisters and two brothers.
Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Assumption Church, followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery.
