Joseph Corbo, Pitney Bowes Designer

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated last Saturday for Joseph Corbo, a retired Pitney Bowes designer. Corbo of Stamford died Nov. 2 at Stamford Hospital at age 95.

He was born Dec. 27, 1914, in Arena, Italy, and came to Stamford in 1932. Corbo was a barber in New York City and established his own barbershop in Manhattan.

Corbo later went to work at Pitney Bowes, where he designed a manufacturing technique that substantially increased production. He retired in 1979 to St. Augustine, Fla., with wife Josephine before returning to Stamford.

He is survived by son Frank and wife Lisabeth Corbo; and two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Corbo was predeceased by his wife Josephine; daughter Anne Corbo; and two sisters.
