At 11:46 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 12, officers observed a blue Hyundai traveling east on Route 46 failing to maintain its lane of travel, Mount Olive police said. Officers initiated a traffic stop and as they spoke with the driver, John Pichardo, he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and noted that he appeared to be impaired, police said.
Pichardo was arrested following field sobriety testing, police said. Pichardo is charged with reckless driving and driving while intoxicated, police said.
