POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- John E. Jones, 67, of Poughkeepsie, died Sept. 27.
He was born March 9, 1949 in Highland, the son of John F. & Fern Whalen Jones.
He attended Highland Schools. He was a member of Teamsters Local #445 and recently was working at Howard Realty as a carpenter. Prior to that, he was employed at Miron Lumber for 30 years. He was an avid golfer, loved gardening and building furniture.
Survivors include his wife, Jill; son, Christopher Jones and his significant other Anthony Mazza; daughter, Adrienne Neider; brothers, George (Roxanne) Jones, Carl Jones; and four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister, Carol L. LaBonte.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at The Wm. G. Miller & Son Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A celebration of his life will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial wwill be at the convenience of the family.
