OSSINING, N.Y. Joel Greenbaum of Ossining died Aug. 10 of cancer. He was 57.
He was born Dec. 18, 1954, in Yonkers to the late Mary and Jack Greenbaum. He worked as a purchasing agent and was the founder and operator of Mostly Macs, a computer-consulting firm.
Greenbaum's family said "For Joel, everyday was a day to laugh and make others laugh along with him." He enjoyed practical jokes and for him, April Fools Day was celebrated as a national holiday. He was passionate about politics, the environment and dancing.
He is survived by two children, Sarah and Keith; his dear Beatrice; a sister, Rose (Jerry); a niece and a nephew; and his friend, Judith.
A funeral service was held Monday morning at Bet El Shalom in White Plains. Ballard-Durand Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center or the Natural Resource Defense Council.
