Jerry Carrasquillo, 46, of Maybrook, was arrested on Thursday, June 4, following a domestic incident investigation in the Village of Maybrook, State Police announced.
According to investigators, troopers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a home on Prospect Avenue on the day of the incident.
Investigators found that Carrasquillo allegedly restrained and held a 47-year-old woman against her will inside the home, State Police said.
Responding troopers safely got the victim out of the residence and took Carrasquillo into custody without incident.
He was charged with second-degree kidnapping, three counts of first-degree criminal contempt for allegedly violating an order of protection through physically menacing conduct, two counts of aggravated criminal contempt for allegedly violating an order of protection and causing physical injury, and third-degree assault.
After being processed at State Police Montgomery, Carrasquillo was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
On the kidnapping charge, bail was set at $50,000 cash, $50,000 partially secured bond, or $200,000 secured bond. On the assault charge, bail was set at $25,000 cash, $25,000 partially secured bond, or $100,000 secured bond.
Carrasquillo is scheduled to return to the Town of Newburgh Court on Tuesday, June 9, at 5:30 p.m.
