Jason Cabone, 38, was arrested following an investigation into alleged narcotics and dangerous drug sales in the Town of Poughkeepsie, the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force announced on Thursday, May 14.
According to the DA’s Office, residents living in the Southgate Spackenkill neighborhood reported suspected drug activity in the area, prompting Drug Task Force agents to begin an investigation.
Investigators identified Cabone as the alleged dealer and made several narcotics purchases from him in the neighborhood and surrounding areas, authorities said.
The investigation culminated on Thursday, when members of the Drug Task Force, alongside the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT Team, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, and Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division executed a search warrant at 41 Southgate Dr. in Poughkeepsie.
Cabone was taken into custody during the operation, according to prosecutors.
The Task Force said investigators also seized evidence connected to the alleged sale and distribution of narcotics and dangerous drugs.
Cabone was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and was later arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court.
He was remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center, formerly known as the Dutchess County Jail.
