Greenwichs Island Beach opened to the public Saturday. Ferries to the island are available from the landing at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park off Arch Street in central Greenwich.
The island, formerly known as Little Captain Island, sits in Long Island Sound about two miles south of Greenwich Harbor.
Byram beach was closed to swimming Saturday due to rainfall, but reopened Sunday. For all beach status information, call the towns Beach Hotline at (203) 622-7855.
