The Westport Fire Department responded to a small brush fire at the intersection of Imperial Avenue and Harbor View Road Wednesday evening.
When firefighters arrived, a small patch of woods at the top of the hill was burning. A hose line was run out and firefighters quickly doused the flames.
They also wet down the surrounding area to prevent it from re-kindling. The fire started in an area where tree crews had been cutting wood. Its cause remains "undetermined," Assistant Chief Robert Yost said in a release.
