IBM to Help Launch Website for Local Group

IBM is celebrating its 100th year as a corporation on June 16 and to honor this accomplishment, employees are volunteering throughout the country in a Celebration of Service.  About 25 employees of IBM will volunteer with My Second Home and RideConnect working to make sure the RideConnect website is functioning at its best.

The year-long volunteering effort will come to an end June 15 with IBM employees and families taking part in coordinated volunteer projects across the country. The general public has access to ibm.com/ibm100/service to find free service activity kits.

RideConnect is a referral service that provides transportation options to older adults, disabled individuals and home health care workers. The call center operators will be able to search a database of possible rides to find the most efficient option for the member.  There are no membership fees for this program.

The areas serviced by RideConnect are Bedford, Lewisboro/Katonah, North Castle, North Salem, Mt. Kisco, Pound Ridge and Somers.

My Second Home, run in collaboration with the Family Services of Westchester, organizes an adult day care program that aims to help isolated older adults and offer them socialization and supervision. My Second Home is located in the same area of the Mount Kisco Child Care Center, which allows the adults and children and opportunity to interact up to three times a day.

My second Home is located at 95 Radio Circle in Mt Kisco.
