Robin Heath never expected to find a Citroen Mehari in the United States. He finally found one on E-bay about two years ago from a person in New Jersey. He drew a lot of attention as he drove his 1969 fire engine red vehicle into Westport Town Hall Saturday to watch his daughter's softball game. The French-made car is made of plastic. It was sold in the United States for just one year, in 1970, according to Wikipedia. Only 214 were sold in the U.S. Which is why Heath had a hard time finding it. "I've been looking for one for 20 years,'' Heath said. The car has excellent off-road qualities and was even used by defense units in France and Ireland.
