Hidden Valley Ranch is launching the "Ranch-bassador Program," the brand announced on Tuesday, March 10. The campaign will send two teams of two people on a seven-week trip to several European countries to test how the American dressing pairs with international dishes.
The program was unveiled on National Ranch Day and ahead of the United States' upcoming 250th anniversary. The "Ranch-bassadors" will serve as cultural explorers, documenting reactions to ranch dressing on local foods and sharing the experience on social media.
The two pairs will spend about 40 hours per week producing content on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
"This is more than a job — it's a cultural exchange powered by an incredibly versatile flavor," said Stacy Stokes, Hidden Valley's vice president of marketing. "Ranch is unmistakably American. As we celebrate America's 250th, we're sharing this original taste with the world and inviting our biggest fans to help us bring The Flavor of America abroad. Does ranch taste good on literally anything? We can't wait to find out."
Each team will create four short-form videos weekly, along with one longer YouTube episode and additional content documenting their journey. All travel expenses will be covered, including airfare, train transportation, lodging, food stipends, and activity costs.
The northern itinerary will take "Ranch-bassadors" through London, Ireland, Iceland, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden. The southern route will pass through London, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, and Greece.
Ranch dressing is often hard to find in Europe, and some Europeans mock Americans for adding the creamy condiment to foods other than salads. The culture clash has been notably seen with some US-born professional soccer players playing in Europe, including Weston McKennie, a Juventus midfielder and Texas native.
In a viral video from the Amazon Prime documentary "All or Nothing: Juventus," the US men's national team star horrified Italian-born teammate Giorgio Chiellini when he explained that he puts ranch on pizza.
"If you put the sauce on the pizza," McKennie said cheerfully while talking about his love for ranch.
"What are you saying to me?" Chiellini chuckled in Italian before responding in English. "I'm scared about American dressing. We use just olive oil, nothing more."
Applications for Hidden Valley's "Ranch-bassador" program open on Tuesday, March 31.
