PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Peekskill High School's Class of 2011 will graduate Sunday and to make sure the ceremony goes off without a hitch there are a few things graduates and their families need to know.
The ceremony will be held in a large tent on the high schools front lawn at 2 p.m. Students are asked to arrive between 12:30 and 1 p.m. so they can put on their caps and gowns and prepare in the school. Graduates are asked to dress appropriately, even though they will be wearing robes.
There are two parking lots available for the event - the student lot in the back of the school and the faculty lot in the front. If those are full, high school secretary Joanne Clark said there is usually ample parking on nearby streets.
Each student is given four tickets for family members to attend the event. In the case of severe weather, which is not predicted for this weekend, the event will be held in the high school gymnasium and students will be allowed only two tickets.
Those without tickets can still get a good view of the ceremony, Clark said.
If they dont have tickets they are welcome to bring a lawn chair and sit outside the tent, Clark said.
