As part of its "Makerspace" series, Rippowam Labs will host a series of four workshops on Thursdays starting Oct. 3 to build a three-dimensional printer that the general public can use.
Three-dimensional printing technology has advanced rapidly in recent years with printers now available for the home office.
Not too unlike the famous "replicators" from the "Star Trek" TV-shows and movies, the printers can make almost any three-dimensional shape from a digital model using an additive process, where successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes.
Participants are encouraged to attend each workshop.
