HARRISON, N.Y. -- The University at Albany has recognized Daniel Maldonado, of West Harrison, as one of its 2013 Multicultural High School Achievers.
The university, part of the State University of New York, recognized 227 high school seniors as recipients of the award. They were selected based on exemplary academic performance and leadership in their schools and communities. The award winners will be honored at a special event Saturday.
Now in its 26th year, the recognition program is designed to honor outstanding students and encourage them to continue their leadership development in college. To date, the program has recognized more than 4,800 students of color.
