HARRISON, N.Y. The beer flowed and plenty of corned beef and cabbage was eaten, as Harrison celebrated St. Patricks Day on a beautiful Saturday.
Over at Murphys Law, co-owners Jim Morganthaler and Tim Murphy served a traditional Irish breakfast in the morning and had the Westchester County Emerald Firefighters bagpipe band play the pub at night.
As the one Irish pub in town, we are trying to stay true to our Irish roots, Morganthaler said. We provide a good destination for people to come to, and the weather couldnt be better. Everyone is Irish on St. Patricks Day.
Joe Vicidomini , owner of the Craftman Ale House, featured his Celtic ales and corned beef burger. Having just opened in November, his business used St. Patricks Day as a chance to show the community what it has.
Its tradition to come out on St. Patricks Day," Vicidomini said. It helps bring people together. You dont have to be Irish to enjoy good beer.
Both Vinny King of Uncle Henrys and Mark Valentino of the Harrison Ale House pointed to the atmosphere that their establishments provide to draw in customers.
Its a bonding event for the community, Valentino said. People come in here to celebrate. I see this day as the kickoff to spring.
