Stamford's Ryan Haggerty has scored goals in each of the last two games for the U.S.A. Hockey's National Development Under-18 team. The squad, which also includes Westport's Michael Paliotta, makes its only state appearance Saturday night when it plays Quinninpac University.
Haggerty, a former star at Trinity Catholic High School, scored Team USA's only goal last Saturday in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Youngstown Phantoms. Haggerty took a turn in the shootout for the U.S. but was stopped.
Haggerty also scored in a 3-0 win over Green Bay Gamblers on Friday night. He has five goals and six assists in 29 games. Paliotta, a defenseman, has one goal in 35 games.
Team USA meets Quinnipac on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the TD Banks Sports Center. It plays Providence College on Sunday at 7 p.m. The season concludes with the World Under 18 Championships in Germany in April.
