Hackensack Cook Ordered Held On $500,000 Bail On Rape Charges

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A Hackensack cook sexually assaulted a woman after she found a cellphone video of him doing the same to a 14-year-old acquaintance, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

Alcibar N. Sarmiento, 36, was being held on $500,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with two counts each of aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment and one each of aggravated sexual assault and simple assault.

Sarmiento, who is married, was arrested Saturday by Hackensack police, who contacted Molinelli's Special Victims Unit. The charges followed, he said.

An arraignment was scheduled for this Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Superior Court in Hackensack.
