Melissa Conca of Manasquan, died on Tuesday, Feb. 17, according to her obituary on the O'Brien Funeral Home website. She was 51 years old.
Conca's daughter, Ava Lamonica, started a GoFundMe campaign for her and her sister, Sophie, that had raised $93,000 as of Saturday, Feb. 21.
"Our lives changed forever when our mom passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed heart issue at just 51 years old. She was our beautiful best friend, and an amazing role model with a courageous soul who loved us unconditionally. Her loss has left us not only heartbroken but facing new challenges as we adjust to living with our grandparents, who are on a fixed income, the campaign reads.
"We are seeking support to help cover daily living expenses and secure our future. Donations will help us with groceries, medical expenses, sports equipment, school supplies, and gas for transportation—essentials that will make a real difference as we navigate this difficult time. Every contribution will go directly to supporting Sophie and me as we try to rebuild and plan for our futures, including college savings."
A Randolph native, Melissa graduated from George Mason University and went on to join The New York Stock Exchange as a Senior Staffing Specialist, her obituary says. She held various senior HR and Recruiting roles at Brooks Brothers, Teladoc, Grateful Giving, and reacHIRE, her obituary said.
"A devoted mother above all else, Melissa’s life was defined by the love and care she gave her daughters who were the center of her world," he robituary said. "She found her greatest joys in the simple pleasures of life—whether she was filling her home with the scent of something freshly baked for her family and friends, the excitement of travel, and the peaceful rhythm of bike rides and walks along the beach."
In addition to Ava and Sophie, Melissa is survived by her parents, Frank and Carmella Ann (nee Sena) Conca; her siblings and their spouses, Stephen and Tina Conca, and Allison and Michael Matejczyk; and her 5 cherished nieces and nephews, Roman, Mia, Gemma, Julia and Luke.
