FAIRFIELD, Conn. If you havent gotten a flu shot yet this year, you can make it as easy as a trip to the library next week. The Fairfield Health Department is holding flu vaccine clinics at the Fairfield Public Librarys branches on Dec. 12 and Dec. 15.
Two types of vaccine will be available at the clinics. The standard flu shot is open for anyone 6 months old and up. A needle-free FluMist Intranasal Spray is also available for residents between the ages of 2 and 49.
You do not need to be a Fairfield resident to get vaccinated at the clinic. The service is free if youre covered by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Connecticare, Aetna or Medicare Part B. For all others, the cost is $25. The health department will issue receipts so you can be reimbursed by your insurance company.
The Fairfield Woods Branch Library (1147 Fairfield Woods Road) will host the first clinic, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. The Health Department will move to the Main Library (1080 Old Post Road) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday. You can also arrange an appointment anytime during normal business hours by calling the Health Department at 203-256-3150.
