OSSINING, N.Y. George Slater, an Ossining native, died Sept. 6 at his home in Lake Peekskill, N.Y. He was 77.
Born and educated in Ossining, Slater was a carpenter and a wood craftsman. He designed and reconstructed homes.
Slater is survived by his wife, Sandra Santucci Slater; two sons, George and Randall; a daughter, Lisa; a brother, Herbert Slater; two sisters, Mary Garrido and Carol Purdy; and a grandson.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Methodist Church in Putnam Valley, N.Y. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Methodist Church.
