The district is looking for a candidate who '...(has) the best interest of staff, children and their families in mind,' according to district materials.
To be specific, the district is looking for an advocate for both teachers and students, someone with teaching classroom experience, familiarity with learning standards, and a working knowledge of special education.
Potential candidates have been screened since last month, with an eye towards completing final interviews by April's end.
From there, the district will put forth its suggested candidate and the new principal is expected to start in July. The stated deadline for recommendation of a new principal is May 3.
