Fairfield Little League Girls Softball player Gabby Natoli is writing a diary for TheDailyFairfield.com about her team's trip to the East Regional in Bristol. Here are her latest thoughts:
Hey guys! Gabby Natoli and the Fairfield 12 girls softball team here in Bristol. On Thursday morning, after breakfast, we were so tired from staying up late the past night. We tried to nap, read or rest. Soon it was time for lunch, which was hamburgers. After lunch, a bunch of us played 'Life,' where everyone sued me at least once.
After sleeping, reading and playing 'Life' some more, it was time for dinner. Wow, it seems as though all we do is sleep, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, play softball, then sleep. Right after dinner we got dressed for our game against Massachusetts. We were really pumped and couldn't wait to play. Finally, game time.
I was going to be the starting pitcher, with Alice catching, Sarah at first, Anna at second, Emma at short, Mary Rose at third, Erin in left, Julia in center, and Madison and Eliza in right. Some highlights: I hit a double and Sarah hit a bases clearing triple. The end result -- we won 7-0. We were so excited to win, but also really sad because Massachusetts is leaving. At the end, we all gave them hugs, and I know that we are going to miss them a lot.
After the game we had pizza and hung out with Massachusetts, then went off to bed. Good job Massachusetts.
